Healing with Essential oils and Raindrop Technique

Updated: Apr 12, 2023

I have been in the world of essential oils with Young Living since my babies were 8 and 10 years old. With that came the need to take the oils into another level to help my family, friends and now clients to heal. A holistic approach as the Raindrop Technique delivers a healing in so many ways! It offers a relaxation through a form of Bodywork by applying the French aromatherapy technique using 9 essential oils (Therapeutic grade) neat by concentrating on the spine and feet. (note always diluting with a carrier oil if necessary depends on case by case basis)

Raindrop technique includes in the body work a concept of effleurage or feathering. This is the method of making short and longer strokes or circular motions with the fingers over larger areas of the client’s back. It is a gentle contact, and a great way throughout the treatment. It is thought to produce physiological responses the patient will benefit from a state of calmness and relaxation.

It is an incredible watching how the essential oils with the Raindrop technique provide another level of healing.

The word effleurage comes from the French: “to touch lightly.”

Bringing the feeling of many hands along the back! It is thought that effleurage acts in several ways to encourage relaxation and stimulates blood flow in the treatment area. It is also thought to stimulate the lymphatic system, the body’s system of removing waste products.

Traditionally the direction of strokes in effleurage begin at the lower back and continue upward towards the heart. The thought is that this encourages blood flow to the heart and lymphatic system, thereby removing toxins. This lymphatic drainage is thought to also stimulate the immune system.

Let's get a little technical where the effleurage is also thought to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which releases positive hormones into the bloodstream. These include serotonin, endorphins, and dopamine. Their release helps to raise the temperature and lower the heart rate. This kind of relaxation can benefit anyone!

Dr. Gary Young from Young Living created this technique. He always stated you can do the Raindrop Technique in 20 different ways, ultimately the intelligence of the oils will find a way to nourish the mind, body and soul!

Ultimately with the pairing of essential oils on the feet and back encouraging stress relief and anxiety.
